- Landscape garden

- Orchard
On the line between Touraine and Bery, Château d’Azay-le-Ferron has been a property of the City of Tours since 1952. The castle evolved from the XVth to the XVIIIth centuries, amidst a 15-hectare park.
Beautiful architecture is matched by the superb interior arrangements.
Up to the XXth century, the estate welcomed grand hunting parties and elegant receptions. The English park develops as a succession of ‘scenes’ (formal parterres, English garden, magnificent landscape park) and enhances the peace and elegance of this property.
A conservatory orchard was recently added, thanks to collaboration with the University of Tours.
The modern garden includes a formal garden and superbly crafted topiary, including the famous chess set.
