Arboretum de la Martinière

Situated on an old quarry with two lakes in the Indre valley, this 4-hectare park is devoted to trees and shrubs but a hundred bamboo varieties can also be found there, harmoniously integrated into the site. In the background, a woody slope and copses have been arranged following one or several themes: combinations of barks, colourful branches, flowers, berries, leaves...This creation will give life to some attractive scenes in all seasons (delicate or sharp contrasts).
The lakes, providing reflections and mist, add their touch to the complex. Michel Davo, graduate of Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, enlivens the park with his installations using bamboos and vegetables.
