Since 1992 the Garden Festival has been providing an astonishing panorama of the state of landscape creativity all over the world.
In 20 seasons, almost 500 gardens have been created, the prototypes of the gardens of the future. Both a mine of ideas and a breeding ground for new talents, the Festival revitalises the art of gardens and interests both the general public and professionals by presenting new flowerings, new materials, innovative ideas and approaches.
The diversity, creativity and quality of the projects have contributed to establishing the global reputation of the Festival, which has become an essential venue for presenting the work of a new generation of landscape architects, architects, set designers and gardeners ...
In addition to the Festival, the valley of the mists, the experimental garden, the “fers sauvages” path and some of the flowerbeds offer the public permanent experimental gardens that change with the seasons.

The future of the Chaumont-sur-Loire Estate
In keeping with the law on decentralization, the property of the Château and of the Chaumont-sur-Loire Estate has, since February 2007, been transferred to the administration of the Région Centre.

Each year, international teams of artists, landscape architects and designers create, since 1992, around 30 ephemeral gardens on a single theme. The aim is to surprise, entertain and enchant you and offer ideas for your own garden. With its 15th-century château, there is also a romantic park, a "valley of mists", with exotic overtones, and since 2008, poetic and original contemporary works of art.
