Domaine du Ciran
Sologne wild animal park. Within the Domaine de Ciran’s 300 hectares, every typical regional landscape can be seen: the heather moorland, broom, fern, reed beds, willow plantations... The castle’s park is nothing less than an arboretum, with its thirty different tree essences. Its most remarkable holdings are already a hundred years old – douglas fir, chestnut tree, giant sequoia, Lebanese cedar… - and the most ancient one is a an oak called ‘Joan of Arc’s Oak’, which would date back 500 or 600 years. Additionally, educational paths through the park help to build a better understanding of fauna and flora in the beautiful landscapes of Sologne.
