Come and visit this historic monument, in the centre of France, resting by the side of the Cher River.
The history of the Château de la Brosse’s goes back to the XIIth century. In 1863, Count Paul de Choulot, the famous landscape architect of the Ville-Parc du Vésinet, creates this romantic park on the 80-hectare grounds surrounding the castle.
The park of Château de la Brosse is of major significance in the history of gardens since it clearly stands as one of the few parks designed by the Comte de Choulot to have kept its integrity as well as its “agricultural and landscape” character. Since 2000, the park is protected as a listed Historic Monument.
The park is a grandiose sight to behold from the castle, from the front steps, the reception rooms or the master’s chamber… Equally enchanting points of view multiply from within the park – the great lawn, the side of the ponds, the island, the grotto, the wandering paths, the water tower, the greenhouse, the vegetable garden with its canal, the riding avenues….
