The Château des Vaux is situated on the border of three “pays”: Perche, Beauce and Thymerais.
The castle lies in the centre of the 120-hectare estate.
In 1946, the estate was purchased by the institution for orphans Orphelins Apprentis d’Auteuil, who created a private agricultural school, the Maison Notre-Dame des Jardins, Lycée Agricole Privé. At the foot of the castle, the buildings required to run Maison Notre-Dame were established: lodgings, learning buildings and sports grounds.
The entire complex covers 2 hectares with a formal garden, a mosaic garden, a motto in clipped box, a collection of square beds for the study of perennials and an English garden
